Short answer: ÖZYES additional-placement preferences close at 23:59 on 4 November
The 2026-ÖZYES additional-placement preference period opened on 28 October and, according to ÖSYM’s announcement, ends at 23:59 on 4 November 2026. Preferences are submitted only through AİS with the candidate’s own Turkish identity number and password. As the deadline approaches, complete the process early and revisit the record shown on screen.
This is the additional-placement process for the Special Talent Examination in Sports Sciences. An available preference screen does not guarantee placement: score, eligibility, capacity and preference order are assessed together under the relevant tables. Use the official general information and tables in ÖSYM’s notice rather than informal lists shared online.
Which official documents should be open before choosing?
Follow the official document
Open the additional-placement notice and its general information and tables together. A programme name, duration, special conditions and explanatory notes may not fit into one line. Do not add a programme based on its name alone; read its table entry and compare it carefully with your own application status.
Review the personal information visible in your AİS account as well. Do not try to solve an inconsistency in contact or education records by guesswork; follow ÖSYM’s official direction. Keeping passwords, identity details and screenshots private protects both the account and the preference record.
Build the list with score, conditions and order together
In additional placement, programmes should be listed in genuine order of preference. A higher option tells the system that you want it more, so a list built only around what appears easy is not a sound approach. First separate the programmes you would actually consider studying, then use the tables to place them in a reasoned order.
Check whether every special condition applies to you. Language of instruction, campus, health or achievement requirements can differ from one programme to another. A friend’s experience or an old table is not a current rule. Return to the current ÖSYM document when uncertain and do not make assumptions about personal eligibility.
How to confirm the transaction in AİS
Follow the official document
Enter the preference screen directly through ais.osym.gov.tr. After adding options, read the order, programme codes and information displayed before confirmation slowly. Rapid last-minute edits can leave an unwanted sequence on record. Once the transaction is completed, check the status shown by AİS from your own account.
A temporary browser page or someone else’s screenshot is not final proof of your preference. Keep the record for yourself, but do not post it publicly. Trust only the current AİS notice and ÖSYM announcement about amendments and the closing time. One calm review before leaving the page reduces avoidable errors.
A practical plan for the final day
Make a short checklist today: are the official tables open, are programme codes correct, have special conditions been read, does the order reflect your choices, and is the AİS record visible? Do not wait for the final minutes in case of connection problems or heavy traffic. A new transaction may not be possible after the announced deadline.
After completing preferences, follow examination and placement notices through official channels. It is not appropriate to invent dates for results, registration or university announcements. At every stage, the candidate’s own AİS record and a new ÖSYM notice are decisive. This prevents old posts from being confused with current information.
Who may find this additional placement relevant?
Candidates who have a preference right in additional placement and are considering Sports Sciences programmes can compare options against their own goals. It is also useful to research practical matters such as transport, housing, campus location and language of instruction. A programme title alone is not enough information for a decision.
Before the final decision, families can discuss budget and city planning while candidates reflect honestly on their interests. This article is not individual preference advice or a promise of placement. A newer official document takes priority if anything changes. Do not skip details when reading the preference table
A programme code and title may look sufficient at first, but table footnotes are an important part of the decision. Check line by line which candidates a condition concerns, the teaching format and campus-related information. Screenshots from another year’s guide may not show current capacity or requirements. When comparing several options, repeating the same check for every programme helps make the final list more consistent.
Before saving, it can be useful to write your options in intended order in a private note. That makes it easier to spot a difference between your intention and the sequence in AİS. Do not post such notes publicly because they may contain personal information. If an expression in the official table is unclear, look for the answer in ÖSYM’s published explanations rather than in rumours.
How to approach results and registration from now
After the preference period ends, check ÖSYM’s announcement page and your AİS account regularly for further notices. It should not be assumed that a certain institution registration will happen or that a fixed date applies before a result is announced. Documents, university notices and registration dates may be announced separately after placement. Treat today’s preference check and later registration planning as separate stages.
Keeping application documents organised makes it easier to follow dates. Still, do not share documents containing personal data in group emails or on social media. Do not enter a password through suspicious links said to come from ÖSYM or a university. Typing the official address yourself is a safer way to reach a transaction page.
